Who doesn’t like free advice? When it comes to beauty and make up, most women will take any make up advice that they can get their hands on. Let’s begin with one of the most pressing questions that many women have, especially when their self tanner turns orange:
How to Remove Self Tanner
It’s important to understand just what self tanner is to know how to remove it. Self tanner is really a dye that simply deposits color or “pigmentation” onto your skin. As we know, skin cells continuously flake off 24 hours a day, meaning the self tanner is flaking off with it. This leads us to the most effective way of removing a self tanner…
Exfoliation!
Here’s how you can most effectively slough off those skin cells so you can get rid of that self tanner:
1) Prepare your skin by applying a very thin layer of oil (such as baby oil) to your body
2) Allow the baby oil to really soak into your skin. This means giving your skin up to 30 minutes to suck up the moisture.
3) Run the bath and step into a warm water tub
4) Start exfoliating your skin with either a “scrub” cream product, a loofah, or a wash cloth.
TIP: If you really need to expedite the process, check into any local spas and see if they offer a full body exfoliation treatment of any sort. This treatment is far more vigorous and will remove the skin cells at a faster rate than if you were to do it yourself.
How to Choose Cosmetics with a Latina Skin Tone
As any cosmetics company will tell you, the Latin community has, until recently, not been too strongly considered when it comes to cosmetics. Thankfully, companies are now recognizing the Latina woman’s need to have colors and tones that will help bring out her natural beauty rather than mask it behind shades that are more appropriate for other skin tones.
Latina women have a warmer skin tone. For your eyes, try pink, plum, or champagne colored eye shadows and top off the look with a nice, strong black eye liner. Liquid liner and curling mascara can fully complete your look.
For the lips, choose deep pinks and rosewood shades to really bring out that natural pout that you have to your lips. You will be the envy of all women!
Choosing a Shade of Blonde to Color or Bleach your Hair
Though blonde is blonde, there is certainly more than one shade of blonde out there to choose from! When ever in doubt, the general rule is that for any person with a cooler complexion and a “whiter” skin tone, a “cool” blonde tone should be chosen. Look for “white” blonde shades and “ash” shades.
For anyone who has a more olive complexion, go for the warmer, honey tones of blonde.
This being said, given how most people are a variation between these skin tones, try out the different dyes and colors and see what you like! If you are dying your hair yourself, beware that the color may not turn out exactly as the box promises – though the color on the box is an excellent guide to use to see if the color would be suitable or not.
