RAZOR BURNS
After you shave any sensitive areas (such as the face or the bikini area) have you ever been left with those uncomfortable and rather unsightly red bumps? If you suffer from razor burns regularly it is important to take these tips into account:
- Change your razor regularly, at least once a week
- Shave only every 2-3 days, and presoak your skin in warm water before shaving (for example, take a shower before shaving so the hair is softer and easier to remove)
- For razor burns, try adding Aloe Vera gels, Witch hazel, or a mix of strawberries and 1 tablespoon of sour cream. Leave the strawberry/sour cream mixture on your affected skin for up to 10 minutes twice a week to keep your skin absolutely razor burn free.
ACNE
One of the easiest ways to get rid of acne is to apply different herbs, fruits and veggies that you already have in your own home to your skin. The easiest of all is to take a clove of garlic, mash it up, and then press the paste directly to your pimples for 15 minutes. The anti-bacterial properties that garlic has will kill off what is causing your acne.
Another remedy is to take an apple and mash it into honey. Apply this mix to the acne-affected skin, leave it on for about 20 minutes, and rinse it off.
DULL HAIR
Everyone wants those long, lustrous locks that have sheen and shimmer. If you suffer from dull hair, here are some things you can do to add some polish back to your ‘do:
- For an easy oil treatment, heat up ½ cup of olive oil in a pan on the stove and apply it to your hair. After 15 minutes, rinse it out. Alternatively, apply cold olive oil to your hair and place a shower cap on top. Step into the shower or the bath and let the heat from the room naturally heat up the oil.
- Got beer? Nab some beer from the fridge and put it beside the shower. After shampooing your hair, give your hair good “beer rinse”.
- If you have cold coffee sitting in the carafe in the coffee maker, apply it to your hair and leave it in for 20 minutes. Rinse it out and enjoy your new hair!
HANG NAIL REMEDY
Here’s where that good old olive oil comes in handy again. Soaking your hand in olive oil for a few minutes every week moisturizes your nails (which makes them stronger), softens your cuticles prevents those nasty, painful hang nails.
