Body piercings on all different areas of the body can be extremely attractive and very complimentary with a number of different looks. But though body jewelry may look good, are you really prepared to get yourself pierced? Piercing is not only expensive, but it’s painful and takes a few weeks for the skin in the area to recover. Worse yet, the area can become infected, or the skin can even “reject” the piercing, which can cause for your skin to become paper thin and change shape and texture.
If you’re not into the real piercings, there’s always fake body piercing jewelry that you can make at home – and no one will be able to tell the difference! We’ll start of by teaching you how to make a pierce-free belly button ring. What you need to make this is:
- Beads
- Needle-nose pliers
- Dangling earring
- Eyelash adhesive
- Eye-makeup remover
- Rhinestone stickers
Step 1: Start off by taking the needle-nose pliers and removing any sort of post or hook that is affixed to the dangling earring (make sure that the earring is one that you won’t want to wear again!).
Step 2: Take a small dab of eyelash adhesive and apply it to the inner, upper arch of your belly button. Now take the top of the dangling earring and affix it to the adhesive. Hold it in place until a firm hold has been created.
Step 3: Now take a small dot of the adhesive and place it approximately half an inch above your belly button. Take a bead and then hold it in place over the adhesive until it sticks.
Step 4: Now take the rhinestone sticker that you have set aside and place it partway between the bead and the top of your belly button. This is key in having your pierce-free belly button ring look authentic and real.
Step 5: When you are ready to remove your pierce-free belly button ring, simply take some eye makeup remover or eyelash glue remover and apply it to the adhesive. This should dissolve the adhesive so you can remove the fake body jewelry.
If you want to try making another type of ring, such as a lip ring, here’s how you can do it easily with a piece of tin foil:
Step 1: Take a small piece of tin foil and cut it so that it approximately half an inch wide. Cut it to the length that is how long you would like for the ring to be.
Step 2: Now take the tin foil and fold it over three times. This will help give your fake lip ring some thickness.
Step 3: Squeeze each end so that they are flattened completely, but take care not to flatten the entire piece of foil. You want the center to still have some shape to it.
Step 4: Bring each end of the tin foil together in a loop or a ring. You can now apply the temporary lip ring to your lip (though you can also try to use this for your nose, ear, or any other body part).

This is quite a quirky and interesting topic I must say!
I’m not one to wear body-jewellery, well at least not the kind that requires piercing. I’ll wear things like bracelets and necklaces though.
