“All Natural”. “Organic”. “Pure”. Each of these statements can be found on numerous beauty products today, and we consumers are foolishly duped by most cosmetic companies by thinking that these products actually ARE natural! Next time you are in your washroom, grab one of these so-called “natural” beauty products and see if there are any words on the back that include numbers, complex spelling, or words with more than 4 syllables. If so, there’s a very good chance that whatever it is that you are using is not, in fact, “all natural”.
The best all natural beauty products really are things that can found in your kitchen cupboards – like using olive oil as a moisturizer or ginger and garlic to cure almost anything that ails you and keep you looking younger. If you are like most women and don’t have the hours to invest in making your own natural beauty products, here are some items to keep an eye out for while beauty shopping:
Acai: Acai berries have exploded onto the beauty scene in a very big way. Often dubbed as being the “Fountain of Youth”, this berry from Brazil is loaded with antioxidants, amino acids, omega fatty oils, proteins and fibers that keep you looking your youngest and your very best for as long as possible.
TIP: Though you can of course purchase an acai juice, you can also now find this berry infused into several different skin care products, cosmetics, and even hair-care products!
Acerola: Acerola is packed with vitamin C, something that helps not only keep us healthier and combat colds but it also helps improve our skin tone and our complexion! If you are suffering from skin inflammation or any redness (such as rosasia) then consider using products containing acerola berries.
Goji Berries: This berry is another natural beauty product that has made a big name for itself in the past few years. Goji berries, also known as Wolfberries, are referred to as being one of the few select “super foods” that are out there because of how it can fight the free radicals in our bodies and improve our immune systems. Goji berries can be found in some skin care products, though you may also find this berry added to some of the newer fragrances on the market today.
Probiotics: “Probiotics” have become all the rage as consumers learn about its many health benefits, such as keeping our entire body free from illness and harm, improving our digestive system, and yes keeping us looking younger for longer. Probiotics have also proven to actually cure diaper rash in babies, so if you do suffer from any rashes or inflammation of the skin, probiotic products will more than likely take care of that problem.
Turmeric: For ages turmeric has been used for many different reasons, most of them being medicinal in nature. When it comes to beauty, turmeric will help anyone who suffers from acne as there is an antiseptic in this powder that aids in both preventing and removing any blemishes that are on your face.
TIP: Look for natural hair removal products and natural sun screens that contain turmeric as well!
