You can turn your home into your very own personalized spa with just a few ingredients and some simple recipes to find the best homemade skin care recipes, ingredients and products. So start raiding your cabinets and your fridge – you’ll be surprised what you will find in there!
The Age-Defying Homemade skin care
Like your coffee in the morning? Why not try using it on your face? A lot of the big name, high priced anti-aging skin care products out there these days incorporated caffeine into their skin products to help revitalize and rejuvenate tired, more mature skin. You can make your very own coffee facial mask with just a few ingredients:
- 3 Tablespoons of used, finely ground coffee (yes, this means that those annoying left over coffee grounds actually can have a use!)
- 1 small glass of milk, ½ cup at most
1) Put the used, finely ground coffee grinds into a small bowl. Then, take the milk and mix it in until you have created a thick mixture. Take care not to make the mixture too “runny”, otherwise your mask will not properly apply to your face.
2) Clean your face, and then apply the coffee and milk paste to both your face and your neck. Take care to not apply it to either your eyes or your lips, and massage it into your skin in small circles.
3) Allow the mask to stay for 20 minutes, and relax!
4) After the 20 minutes or so have passed, wash the mask off, taking care to massage it into your skin as you do so to exfoliate your skin.
5) Follow up by patting your face dry and applying a moisturizer while your face is still damp to really seal in the moisture.
The “Kosher” Facial Scrub
For this beauty routine, all you need is:
- Kosher salt
- 3 tsp. of coconut oil
- Plain yogurt
- Milk
To make this mixture, simply add the Kosher salt to the coconut oil until a paste has been created. Apply the paste gently to your face, as it does have a rather rough texture. Rinse the mixture of your face, and then apply a yogurt and milk mixture to your face. Allow it to sit for up to 5 minutes, and then rinse it off. The milk will nourish and soften your skin.
The Detoxifying Body Bath
Looking to rid your body of some impurities? Not a problem. All you need is:
- ½ cup of Epsom salts, sea salt, or baking soda (yes, you really can soak in baking soda!)
Add the ingredients to a warm bath. Soak your skin for up to 15 minutes, and then gently scrub your body with soap that is applied to a natural fiber. You will notice that, within a few short minutes, the color of the water will change to a darker shade. These are the heavy metals, mostly mercury and aluminum that are being released from your body. Be sure to drink water while you take your detox bath to really cleanse your body, inside and out!
