Of all the seasons, I’m a really big fan of Fall. I love the crispness in the air, and the way the leaves turn to such beautiful shades of oranges and browns. But, most of all, I love the way nail polish trends take advantage of the Fall colors to create some amazing collections.

Which Fall 2012 nail polishes should you be wearing this season? Here are my Top 5 picks:

Nars – Lal Mirchi

Thakoon for Nars’ Nail Polishes might have been inspired by the designer’s Spring Collection from earlier in the year, but this bold and vibrant mandarin red shade is perfect for Fall. Whilst the color seems a bit too bright for the shade of Fall leaves, it is an excellent match to one of my favorite Fall holidays— Halloween. Perhaps it would be better described as “blood red”.

Why I Love This Shade: It’s bright and it’s bold, and it is definitely not afraid to be confident at a time of year, especially when nail polish shades tend to become darker.

Price: $18

Essie – Penny Talk

Part of the Mirror Metallics Collection, Penny Talk is a beautiful copper metallic from Essie, that is such a beautiful shade, and part of the ongoing trend for metallic/foil nail polishes.A much paler shade to Lal Mirchi, Penny Talk is a beautiful complement to the brown leaves of Fall.

Why I Love This Shade: I currently have a huge love for metallic-based polishes, mainly because I love the overall finish and how shiny they are. I’m a sucker for shiny nail polish!

Price: $8

OPI – Unfor-greta-bly Blue

From OPI’s Germany Collection, Unfor-greta-bly Blue is a stunning glossy blue that seems to mimic the wonders of the night sky. This is the darkest polish in the entire collection, which seeks to “blend classic looks with the avant-garde”. To me, this polish screams empowerment in a very urban-chic kind of way.

Why I Love This Shade: It’s just a beautiful color; dark but not so dark that it looks black, and the fact that it’s shiny, well that’s perfection!

Price: $15.30

China Glaze – Deviantly Daring

Described as “vibrant, luxurious, unpredictable and stylish”, China Glaze’sBohemian Luster Chrome Collection does exactly what it says on the tin, and Deviantly Daring is a beautiful part of it. A teal shade that never seems to make its mind up, this polish seems to glow on your nails as it changes color from varying angles.

Why I Love This Shade: I’m always intrigued by shades where you can’t entirely decide what color it is. Is it green? Is it blue? Is it gold? You never really know but blended together the colors look great for Fall.

Price: $6.99

Zoya – Elisa

This crimson red shade, from Zoya’s NYFW Diva Collection for Fall/Winter 2012, might look like your typical medium red nail polish, but like a Fall sunset, it is actually a lot more intriguing than that with its subtle golden shimmer and beautiful metallic finish. This is the type of red that offers an extra bit of punch.

Why I Love This Shade:For me, Fall is all about bonfires and snuggling up together all cozy, so it’s no surprise that I love this fiery shade.

I love the red shade from Zoya. I don’t like a bright red so I will have to try this!
