It’s no secret that several of us wake up in the morning not exactly looking what we would call “our best”. A certain level of grooming is involved to obtain our desired appearance, such as taking a shower, drying and straightening our hair, and for most women, applying make up.
A dream for most women is rolling out of bed with perfect hair and make up. Though having perfect hair after an 8 hour sleep may be hard to obtain, it is possible to roll out of bed with a perfect face of make up. You can undergo a procedure that is referred to as “permanent make up”.
Permanent make up goes by several names, such as dermapigmentation, micropigmentation, and perhaps most appropriately cosmetic tattooing. Permanent make up involves the exact same needles, inks and dyes that are used by tattoo artists when they create their gorgeous graphics and designs on other areas of our body.
The most common area for permanent make up is the eye area. Permanent eye make up is perhaps the most popular since having nice, well defined eyes go a long way in enhancing our appearance and making us look more defined. Having defined eyes also prevents us from looking washed out and fatigued, two things that we may very well appear to be when we first roll out of bed.
Before you jump into getting permanent eye make up, it’s important to invest a considerable amount of time and research into it. Remember, when you apply this permanent eye make up to your face you are applying a tattoo to your face. If you need to remove your permanent eye make up, it will be just as difficult as if you were trying to have a tattoo removed. Removal of eye make up involves lasering or dermabrasion tactics. Do your research and get to know who is the best permanent eye make up artist in town before booking an appointment.
When you do go in for that appointment to have the permanent eye make up applied, the procedure can vary in length though for procedures such as eye liners it make take up to 2 hours. Before they begin to apply the permanent eye make up to your face, they will usually apply some sort of topical anesthesia so that you won’t feel too much pain. You may want to take a couple of Ibuprofens before you go in to further decrease any painful sensations.
TIP: Always wear sun glasses when outside for the first while after you have this procedure done to prevent the sun from fading your make up.
Once the procedure is done, you’re free to go! Do not be too concerned about the color of the eye make up when you first look at yourself. Your make up will bound to appear to be darker and a bit distorted as it is freshly applied, hasn’t had time to sink into your skin and fade, and your skin will be a bit swollen. Within 2-5 days you should be able to see how your permanent eye make up will look.
