Turmeric is one of the most essential and versatile remedies in Indian medicine and has been valued for centuries as a particularly cleansing drink. It’s high in iron, vitamin B 6, fiber, and copper. Effective in case of listlessness strengthens the immune system and helps to overcome colds faster. In addition, turmeric has a stimulating effect similar to coffee. The fact that turmeric latte promotes digestion and counteract hunger pangs makes the drink a supporter of diets or detox programs. For 1-2 servings of turmeric latte:
Boil 1 tbsp turmeric (ground) with 120 ml water in a saucepan. Then add 15 g ginger (finely chopped) and reduce everything while stirring until an aromatic paste is formed. Put the paste in a bowl. This way, it can be kept in the refrigerator for about five days.
For preparation, heat 350 ml almond milk, stir in 1-2 teaspoons of paste, one teaspoon of maple syrup, one teaspoon of coconut oil, and one pinch of cinnamon. Let everything simmer for 2 minutes.
